The 2022 season of the Indian Premier League is finally getting underway with a blockbuster match-up between last season’s finalists Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings. Reigning champions CSK would be looking to extend their superior head-to-head record against the Knight Riders, after beating them thrice in a row last season, including in the final, to win their 4th IPL title. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah released a statement announcing the schedule for the upcoming IPL Season 2022, also clarifying the number of double headers that will take place in the now expanded league, as two new teams make their way.

The IPL announced two new player replacements for assigned players that have pulled out of the 2022 season of the IPL due to injuries and other personal reasons.

The BCCI revealed the schedule for the much-anticipated event and the reigning champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will meet the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the first match.

Kuldeep Yadav, an Indian international cricketer playing for India as well as Uttar Pradesh in the domestic cricket scene, has been dropped from playing for Team India. The player also appears not to make an appearance with the Pradesh until June this year for the second run of the domestic season following team mismanagement and other issues per multiple reports. Yadav is a left-arm spinner who has been pulled out from Test matches and failed to make a cut in some of the competitions where he was initially supposed to participate. This series of unfortunate events had struck Yadav and his cricketing career simultaneously.

Kolkata Knight Riders all-rounder Sunil Narine has joined the ranks of the most elite players by becoming the second overseas player to receive a ₹100 crore salary in the season just ahead of another rendition of the Indian Premier Lague.
